House rules?

Running through our local park last week was more of an obstacle course since a brood of wild ducks and geese have seemingly taken over. Not only do I have to dodge the birds themselves, but my household rule to remove shoes when entering our home was only reaffirmed when I gave up trying to sidestep the presents they were leaving behind everywhere. Though I don’t yet have little ones crawling around, I enjoy yoga and stretching on a daily basis so much of the time I am sitting or lying on the floor — sometimes face down — and I know I personally wouldn’t be happy picking up or coming face to face with anything I tracked in from the park. Or a public restroom. What about your family? Do you remove shoes when entering your home?
