Okay, so shopping might not be your thing but there is definitely something to be said for retail therapy! Also, shopping is my thing – not like a crazy person but I do enjoy adding new clothes to my closet and being able mix and match these with old pieces to create a fantastic new ensemble. Hmmm, I might be reading too much Fancy Nancy with my three year old…
The shopping trip that prompted this blog post was one many years in the making. A girlfriend of mine called me a few weeks ago and claimed that she was ready to do it – “let’s go shopping.” You should know I have been offering to take her shopping for literally years. However, she is just one of those females that is opposed to shopping. To shed some light on her behalf, she hasn’t always had the best luck… But all that was about to change!
I created an itinerary for the day laying out each store we would shop at and what we’d look for. Tops and accessories at one, pants at another, and if we had time, shoes at a third. My only condition for taking her shopping was that she would try everything on that I/we grabbed while browsing, even if she didn’t think she would like it/fit, etc. Another girlfriend came along for the ride and we were off!
My friend was an amazing sport! She tried on everything we brought for her and found a ton of fantastic clothes all for a very reasonable amount of money. PLUS, the three of us had a fabulous day together!
Without sounding too much like a Cyndi Lauper song, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” and boy did we!
Happy Monday Mamas!
