A very Happy Cinco de Mayo to all today, a great day to celebrate the Mexican heritage and pride! As most Americans, the best way I know how to celebrate Cinco de Mayo is by eating my favorite kinds of Mexican foods – which my favorite kind of food year round too!
I took a very informal poll in the office to see what everyone loved to eat and drink for their Cinco de Mayo celebration. And found (though not tested), some possible recipes to make your own food celebration!
Guacamole (California style)
Salsa (I love salsa with fruit!)
Chips (Make your own)
Cerveza (these you might just buy at the store but here is a link to brew your own…maybe for next year!)
Tacos – these are for fish, wish I love but use whatever is your favorite meat or go veggie!
Tamales (great website that breaks it down and makes you feel like you can almost make them as good as you can get from the “Tamale Lady”)
Pozole Rojo (A bit more “gourmet”)
Churros (Here is the recipe but if you want to go out and buy this item, I won’t tell)
